Welcome to ‘Inwards – Outwards’ by Meinrad Rohner
How I shape my relationships, move through everyday life and the world and act in my private life, at work and in public is essentially determined by how I deal with myself, my body, my sensations, my feelings, my thoughts, my needs and desires, my inner attitudes and my deeper orientation towards life. And just as contact with our inner self is the breeding ground for our outward actions, the way we interact with others and the world has an effect on our inner self. And just as a baby develops into a child in many small steps after birth, constantly discovering new aspects of the world, absorbing them into its consciousness and adopting them practically, just as it learns to make and maintain friendships, discovers new perspectives, becomes completely absorbed in its home culture and at the same time encounters other cultures, we also continue to develop as adults. We get to know increasingly finer aspects of ourselves, gain experience in forming relationships, become familiar with social systems and structures, understand how they shape us and how we in turn influence them, while life turns out to be an ongoing process of growing, learning and unfolding. For those on this life journey, my webpages offer numerous suggestions and support to better understand oneself and others, to listen and speak consciously, to broaden and deepen the knowledge of human development, both internally and externally, to align oneself internally in movement and action, to draw from stillness again and again and to deal constructively with challenges and vulnerabilities.
Life, conflict and developmental counseling
As a life and conflict counselor and coach, I support you on your life and your developmental path. In clarifying conversations, I accompany you in finding new ways of dealing with private, professional and social challenges, in identifying and releasing hindering beliefs and habits, in developing your human potential and purpose in life and in connecting with a deeper and spiritual orientation. In my counseling work, I am guided by the person-centered approach, by working with inner parts, by the practical application of the STAGES development model, by the pedagogical principles of the Alexander Technique, by the constantly evolving psychological understanding of being human and by the great wisdom traditions. Effortlessly upright and in balance with the Alexander Technique
Moving in a coordinated manner, breathing freely, reacting calmly and acting consciously are the keys to an everyday life in which we feel physically comfortable, psychologically balanced and mentally clear. We can learn these precious skills with the Alexander Technique. It gives us basic guidelines for dealing with ourselves, our body and our consciousness. With the Alexander Technique, we can get rid of unfavorable habits, get back in touch with the intelligence of our body and at the same time prevent the consequences of misaligned posture, coordination disorders and stress reactions, which can manifest themselves in constant restlessness, irritability, excessive tiredness, back or joint problems, tension headaches and many other discomforts. I teach the practical principles of the Alexander Technique in individual lessons. They are practised with simple, everyday movements that help us to recognize and change our own movement, reaction and thought patterns. Read more under Alexander Technique.
Human development and the STAGES model
For us humans, development begins in the womb and can be experienced with all our senses at birth. Developmental steps are manifested in countless new abilities that babies and children learn step by step and which always cause amazement and admiration. While physical abilities are in the foreground at the beginning, emotional, cognitive and social abilities soon follow. Such developmental steps are expressed, for example, in the fact that children begin to playfully try out roles and rules together, whereas before they played by themselves, albeit preferably in the company of others. However, developmental steps are not only observed in childhood and adolescence. They also continue in adulthood. They then relate to the perspectives that people can adopt, to the experience of their own inner world, to the shaping of fields of action and relationships as well as to integration into and repercussions on social contexts. The STAGES model of development offers a unique opportunity to get to know the place we are currently on this path, to look back at how we became who we are today and also to look forward to the possible future. Learn more about human development, the STAGES model and how to create a developmental profile.
